Every idea in TrendGap stands on dated complaints that you can check yourself. The "Evidence" section of a report counts them, shows where they came from, and labels how strong they are.
Where the complaints come from
TrendGap collects complaints from public places where people describe problems with the tools they use. Depending on the idea, these include:
- App store reviews. Only low-star reviews (one or two stars) count as complaints.
- Developer forums and Q&A sites.
- Plugin and add-on directories, from their low-star reviews and, where they have one, their support forum.
- Code issue trackers, where people report bugs in software projects.
Most items show a short excerpt without usernames, the name of its source and the date it was posted. Reviews also show their star rating. When known, an item names the product, its version and the storefront (the country store a review was left in). A link such as "View on …" opens the original in a new tab, so you can read it in full.
A few items look different. Some show "Our summary:" followed by TrendGap's own short summary instead of a quote, with a link to the original. Items from some sources read "We link to this review but don't show its text."
What the Evidence section shows
- The number of complaints in the last 90 days, and from how many sources.
- One chip per source, with its count.
- A "Complaints per week" chart, with a bar for each recent week.
- "Themes": the main complaint themes with their count and share. Theme labels are written by AI; each count is the number of stored complaints in the theme.
- The newest quotes, and a button that opens the full list.
Counts are recomputed from the stored complaints every time you open the page. Removed items are not counted.
Evidence labels
The label in the report head and in the Evidence section follows a published rule over the complaints of the last 90 days:
- "Strong": 30 or more complaints, from at least two different sources.
- "Moderate": 10 or more complaints.
- "Thin": at least one complaint, but fewer than Moderate needs.
- "Evidence pending": no complaints collected in the last 90 days yet.
Click the label to see the rule and this idea's own counts. A Thin or pending idea also shows a notice at the top of the report, so you know there is not much to go on yet.
How fresh it is
The report head shows "First spotted", "Last complaint" and "Report refreshed". The Evidence section carries a label such as "Updated" with a time, from the moment the newest complaint was stored. Hover a label to see the exact time in UTC. "Not measured yet" means there is no stored value; TrendGap never shows it as zero.
Filter the full list
- In the Evidence section, click "See all … quotes" (or "Open the evidence list"). The "Evidence" drawer opens.
- Use the "Source", "Theme", "Storefront" and "App version" menus. A menu only appears when there is something to choose.
- Set "Date" to "Last 90 days" for recent items only, or "Any date" for all of them.
- Click the star chips under "Stars" to keep only those ratings.
- "Showing … of …" says how many items pass. If nothing matches, click "Clear filters" to start again.
Filters combine: an item must pass every one. How many quotes you can read depends on your plan. Free and Basic show a set number per report, and Pro and above show them all; when your plan shows only part of the list, a line under the quotes says how many you see. On paid plans, "Download CSV" at the bottom of the drawer saves the list. See Share links, PDF and export.
Request removal
If an item is yours, holds personal data, does not belong to this idea or should come down for another reason, click "Request removal" on it, choose a "Reason", add a note if you like, and click "Send request". The team reviews it, and an item that is removed is not added again. TrendGap stores the item, the reason and your note with your account, and nothing else.
