TrendGap has a few community features for signed-in members. You can claim a niche you are working on, see who else is building it, and see which niches many founders watch. None of them shows your email address.

Claim a niche

A claim tells other founders you are working on an idea. There is no fee, a claim is not exclusive, and anyone can claim the same niche. Claims are part of the paid plans, on niches your plan opens. An admin reviews each claim before anything shows.

  1. Open the niche's report and click "Claim this niche" in the row of buttons near the top.
  2. Under "Where are you with it?", pick "Validating", "Building" or "Launched".
  3. Type a "Name on your builder card". Any name works; TrendGap never uses your email or account name.
  4. If you like, add a "Proof link (optional)": a secure web address (starting with https) of your product, landing page or public revenue page.
  5. If you like, write a "Private note to the reviewer (optional)". Only TrendGap's admins read it.
  6. Under "Who sees your claim?", choose private (only you and our admins) or public (a builder card on the report once approved).
  7. Wait a moment for the security check, then click "Submit claim".

What happens after you claim

  • Your claim shows "Waiting for review" until an admin marks it "Approved" or "Not approved". On the report, the button now reads "Your claim:" with its status.
  • If your watchlist has room, the niche is added to it.
  • If projects are open to your plan, TrendGap links the claim to your active project on that niche, or creates a project while you have a free slot. Without a free slot, it offers to link one of your active projects. See Projects.
  • There is a limit on how many claims can wait for review at once and how many you can send a day. The form tells you if you reach one.

Manage your claims

Open Settings and click the "Your claims" tab. Each claim shows its niche, status, stage and visibility.

  • "Edit" changes the stage, the name, the proof link, the note and whether your card is public. The stage, the note and hiding your card change at once. A new name or proof link, or making a private claim public, goes back to review before your card changes.
  • "Withdraw" removes the claim and its card. A project linked to it keeps going. A claim that was not approved shows "Remove" instead, and you can claim that niche again.
  • You can edit or withdraw your claims on any plan, even after leaving a paid plan.

Builder cards

Approved public claims show under "Builders on this niche" on the niche's report. Each card shows the name the founder picked, their stage, the day it was approved and their proof link, which opens in a new tab. Builder cards show only to signed-in members on report pages. They never appear on share links, PDFs or public pages.

Crowd signals: what founders are watching

Crowd signals are real counts of different founders. A count shows only once enough founders did the same thing, so nobody can be singled out.

  • "Watched by … founders" appears on a report, on the cards in Opportunities and in the "Peek" preview when enough founders watch that niche.
  • On Home, "What founders are watching" can show two lists: "Most watched this week" (niches the most founders started watching in the past week) and "Most exported" (niches the most founders recently exported to an AI coding tool or app builder with "Build this with AI").
  • A niche your plan does not open shows as "Members' niche", with its rank and track only.
