Almost every signed-in page shares the same frame: a menu on the left, a bar across the top and the page in the middle. The menu shows only the parts of TrendGap that are available right now, so yours may be shorter than the list below.
The menu
- "Discover": "Home", "Opportunities" (the library), "Trends", "Market Radar" and "Playbooks". Playbooks hold a build and go-to-market playbook for each idea your plan opens, on paid plans.
- "Validate and build": "Validate" and its tools, "Projects", "Build tools" and "Tools". Until "Validate" is available, this group shows the "Idea Evaluator" instead.
- "Stay updated": "Watchlist", "Inbox", "Ask TrendGap" and "Reports".
- "Settings": "Settings", "Plan and credits", "Give feedback" and "Help and docs", which opens these guides.
Some entries fold out. Click the small arrow beside an entry to show the pages under it:
- "My lists" and "Audience hubs" under "Opportunities".
- "Pain clusters" under "Trends".
- "Keyword monitors" under "Market Radar".
- "Idea generator", "Teardown", "Feature matrix", "Compare" and "Private vault" under "Validate".
- "Monthly rankings" and "Pain Index" under "Reports".
A fold opens by itself while you are on one of its pages. "Inbox" shows a count when you have unread alerts. Its page heading reads "Alerts".
The top bar
- The TrendGap logo takes you back to your home page.
- The search box opens search, when search is available (see below).
- The credits chip shows how many credits you have left, when credits are in use. Click it to see your balance and history in Settings.
- When the watchlist is available, the inbox button opens your Inbox. A dot means something is unread.
- The "Give feedback" button opens the feedback form.
- Your initials open the account menu: "Settings", "Plan and billing", "Take the tour" (when the tour is available) and "Sign out".
Search
When search is available, press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) on any page, or click the search box, to open "Search TrendGap". Type at least two letters to search opportunities, trends, apps and tools. Use the arrow keys to move, Enter to open and Esc to close.
- On Free, search counts the matching ideas your plan does not open, but does not list them.
- When the "Plain words" mode is offered, you can describe a problem in your own words instead of keywords. Plain-words searches have a daily allowance.
- More in Search and saved searches.
The product tour
When the tour is available, it opens by itself after the welcome questions, until you finish or skip it. It stops at the main parts of the menu, at your credits when they are shown, and at your account menu. Use "Next" and "Back" to move, "Skip tour" or Esc to leave, and "Finish" on the last stop.
To take it again, open your account menu and click "Take the tour". You can also click "Take the tour" on the "Product tour" card in Settings.
Settings
Settings keeps your account in tabs: "Profile", "Plan and billing", "Email" and "Share links". When available, you also see "Credits", "Connected apps" or "Webhooks", "Referrals" and "Your claims". "Plan and credits" in the menu opens "Plan and billing" directly. See Account settings.
Give feedback
"Give feedback" in the menu or the top bar opens a short form. It asks for an optional rating, what your feedback is about and a message (needed when something is broken or confusing). TrendGap attaches the address of the page you are on, so the team can see what you saw. Click "Send feedback". The same form is on the Give feedback page. See Feedback and support.
On a phone or tablet
On a phone, a bar at the bottom of the screen holds a few main pages and "More", which opens the full menu. On a tablet, the menu button at the top left opens and closes the menu.
