Home is the first page you see after you log in. Its heading is "This week". Every number on it is read from TrendGap's stored data when the page loads. A card with no data is hidden rather than filled with a guess.
The top of the page
- "Browse the library" opens the full list of ideas ("Opportunities" in the menu).
- "Ask TrendGap" opens Ask, where you can ask questions about TrendGap's data, when Ask is available.
- Notices about your plan appear here when they apply, for example a payment that needs your attention, a paused plan or a scheduled change.
- After you have opened Home on a few different days, you may see a one-time card asking how TrendGap feels. Click "Give feedback" or "No thanks".
Library counts
The "Library counts" tiles show how many niches are live and how many were added and refreshed this week. They also show how many reviews and posts a recent data run read, and when the last data run happened. A tile whose data is too old is removed. The "Changelog" link lists every finished data run with its counts, plus the release notes. See How often TrendGap updates its data.
Gap of the week
Once Gap Scores exist, the "Gap of the week" card shows one idea from those with enough recent complaints. It is the one with the highest Gap Score or, once enough weekly history exists, the biggest weekly rise in Gap Score. The card prints the rule in use, the score, its parts and how it moved this week.
Click "Peek" for a quick look or "Open full report" to read it. If your plan does not open it, the card shows as a "Member report". See Gap of the week.
Today's free idea
"Today's free niche" ("Today's pick" on paid plans) is open to every account until midnight UTC. The card shows the time left. Click "Open today's pick" for a short summary in a side panel, then "Open full report" to read the report. "Tomorrow's niche" shows the next pick's track and when it unlocks. See What the free plan includes.
Since your last visit
This card lists what changed on your watches, saved searches and reports since you were last here. "Mark all seen" clears it. On your very first visit, it says that changes will show from your next visit.
When the watchlist is available, "View all alerts" opens your Inbox. If you have no watches yet, the card invites you to watch your first niche. See Alerts and the inbox.
Ranked this week
"Ranked this week" holds short ranked lists: "New this week", "Heating up", "Incumbent slipping", "Underserved" and "Rising demand". Each list states its rule, and each row says why it is there. Lists that compare weeks appear only once enough weekly history exists, so you may see fewer of them at first. On Free, some rows are for members.
Recommended for you and more
- "Recommended for you" lists ideas you can open, sorted by how well they fit your founder profile. If your profile is missing your platforms, skills or hours, click "Finish your profile".
- "What founders are watching" shows the ideas the most founders recently started watching ("Most watched this week") or exported ("Most exported"). It appears only when community features are available and enough different founders have done so.
- The "Ask TrendGap" card lets you start a question from Home when Ask is available. "All conversations" opens your past questions.
Click the eye button ("Peek") on a card in any of these lists to read a short summary in a side panel without leaving Home.
