"Fit for you" is a score from 0 to 100 that says how well an idea suits you: the platforms you build for, your skills, your time, your budget and your region. It is worked out from your founder profile, and only you see it.
How the score is worked out
Fit is a fixed, published formula, never AI. It compares facts about the idea with your answers, in five parts:
- "Track": whether the idea's track (the kind of product) is one of the platforms you picked.
- "Time to build": the build time stated for the idea, turned into weeks at your hours a week. A shorter build scores higher.
- "Skills": whether your skills cover what the build needs. That depends on the track; a complex build also needs a developer, and every idea needs someone to sell it (marketing or sales).
- "Budget": whether your budget covers what a first version of the idea's stated complexity needs.
- "Region": whether TrendGap measures the idea in your region's storefront (the country store its data comes from).
Each part has a weight, and the score combines the parts with data. A part with no data, on either side, is left out, never guessed, and lowers the confidence. When too little is known, "Finish your profile to see your fit" shows instead of a score.
Read your fit
- On a report, the "Fit for you" block shows the score, a one-line reason, and each part that has data with its value.
- The reason names what helps most, or what holds the score down, such as "Your skills cover the build" or "Likely needs more budget than you set". A tick marks a reason that helps.
- Click "How fit is scored", or the fit badge on a card, to see the rule: its formula version, each part with its weight, and your value or "no data".
Where it shows
- On reports, near the top, for the ideas your plan opens. On the Free plan, that means today's free idea and the free previews.
- In Opportunities: a fit badge and its reason on the cards you can open, and "Fit for you" under "Sort by". That sort lists the ideas you can open in fit order, then locked ideas, newest first.
- On Home: "Recommended for you" lists the ideas you can open that fit you best, leaving out the ones you hid or already triaged.
- In triage: each card shows its fit, and a "Fit for you" view is triaged in that order. Once you give enough verdicts in a track, "Keep" and "Watch" move its ideas up that sort and "Skip" moves them down, for you only. See Save ideas to lists, hide them and triage.
Your founder profile
Your profile holds your goal, platforms, categories, skills, hours per week, budget and region; categories do not count toward fit. A meter ("Profile … of …") shows how complete it is. To change your answers:
- Open Settings and stay on the "Profile" tab.
- In "Founder profile", change any answer.
- Click "Save profile". Your fit scores follow your new answers.
While your profile is incomplete, "Finish your profile" on Home, or on a report without a fit score, opens the welcome steps where you left off. Each step saves its answers when you click "Continue" (or "Finish" on the last one), and "Skip" takes you back to Home.
When the public founder fit quiz is available and you took it in this browser, the welcome steps offer "Use my quiz answers". The quiz uses the same formula. Nothing is saved until you click it, and you can check each step before you finish.
Private, and separate from the Gap Score
Your profile and your fit scores are visible only to you. Fit never changes the Gap Score, which is the same for everyone and measures the gap itself.
