You can change your plan yourself at any time, without emailing anyone. Before anything changes, TrendGap tells you what happens and what is charged, and asks you to confirm.
The free trial
When a free trial is offered, new members can start a monthly paid plan free for a set number of days. The Pricing page shows how long.
- It is for monthly plans only. Yearly plans have no free trial.
- It is once per customer, for members who never had a subscription.
- A card is needed to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan is charged when the trial ends and then renews monthly.
- During the trial you get a smaller credit allowance. Your plan's full credits start with your first paid month, and the trial credits you haven't used are kept.
- Open Pricing and keep "Monthly" selected.
- Under the plan's button, click the link that starts with "Try", for example "Try Pro free for …".
- Enter your card on Polar's checkout page.
- Back in TrendGap, a message confirms your plan is set up and when the first charge happens. The "Plan and billing" tab says "No charge until" and the date.
Prefer to pay right away? The plan's own button buys it now, with its full credits from the first day.
Upgrade to a bigger plan
On Basic, the plan card on the "Plan and billing" tab shows "Upgrade to Pro". On Pro, the card offers the next plan up the same way while that plan is on sale. You can also click "Change plan" to open the Pricing page and pick any plan or cycle.
- Click "Upgrade to …", or click "Change plan" and then the "Switch to …" button on the plan you want.
- Read the confirmation. When TrendGap can work out the amount, it shows "Charged today (estimate)". That is the new price for the rest of this period, minus the unused part of what you already paid. Tax is added where it applies.
- Click "Switch to …" to confirm, or "Not now" to stop.
- An upgrade starts right away. The difference for the rest of the period (the prorated amount) is charged to your saved payment method. If that payment fails, your plan stays as it was.
- You get extra credits right away for the days left in the period. The breakdown calls them "Added for your upgrade, for the days left in the period".
- During a free trial, an upgrade ends the trial and the new plan is charged right away.
Move to a smaller plan
- A downgrade starts at the end of your current billing period. Nothing is charged today, and you keep your current plan until then.
- Settings and the Pricing page show a notice: "Your plan switches to … on …". Click "Keep my current plan" to undo it before that date.
- When the switch happens, you start from the smaller plan's monthly credits. Unused credits from the bigger plan don't carry over.
- If you have more watches or projects than the smaller plan includes, the newest are paused, not deleted.
Switch between monthly and yearly
- Pick "Monthly" or "Yearly" on the Pricing page, then click your plan's button, for example "Switch to Pro (yearly)".
- Monthly to yearly counts as an upgrade. It starts right away, and the difference is charged when you confirm.
- Yearly to monthly starts at your next renewal, and nothing is charged until then.
- A changed plan is billed at the prices on the Pricing page.
When a change has to wait
- Your plan is set to cancel: click "Resume subscription" first.
- Your last payment failed: update your card under "Manage billing" first.
- Your subscription is paused: resume it first.
Plans from our previous payment provider
If your plan was billed by our previous payment provider, the "Plan and billing" tab shows the date it ends and a "Continue with …" button. Continuing moves your billing to Polar, and you aren't charged until that date.
