How this is worked out (formula version 1)
- Monthly churn = customers lost ÷ customers at the start
- Churn over a year = 1 − (1 − monthly churn)^12
- Average lifetime (months) = 1 ÷ monthly churn
- Gross revenue churn = (cancelled MRR + downgraded MRR) ÷ MRR at the start
- Net revenue retention = (MRR at the start − cancelled − downgraded + upgrades) ÷ MRR at the start
