How this is worked out (rule version 1)
Launch readiness is the weighted average of five factors, each 0 to 100, over the factors that have data.
| Proof of the problem | 25 points |
| Demand | 15 points |
| Room to win | 10 points |
| Build | 25 points |
| Launch prep | 25 points |
- Proof: the niche's evidence strength (Strong 100, Moderate 70, Thin 30, Pending 0) or the evaluated idea's verdict (GO 100, CONDITIONAL 60, NO-GO 0), whichever is higher.
- Demand: monthly searches (60%, on a log scale up to 100,000) and their 12-month change (40%, from -25% at 0 to +100% at 100), on the Gap Score's scales.
- Room to win: fewer competing apps (40%), strong apps (40%) and ranking websites (20%) score higher, as in the Gap Score's room to win.
- Build: the share of the first version's tasks done (skipped ones left out).
- Launch prep: the share of the launch checklist done (skipped items left out).
A factor without data is left out and lowers the confidence. There is no score without proof of the problem, nor below 60% confidence.
