Compare ideas side by side

Put niches and your evaluated ideas next to each other on one measured yardstick, then save the comparison.

Compare puts niches and your own evaluated ideas side by side. You can see which one has more pain, more demand and more room to win. Everything comes from data TrendGap already stores, so comparing uses no credits.

Open Compare

  • In the menu, click "Validate", then "Compare" in the entries below it.
  • On the idea evaluator or the private vault, click "Compare ideas".
  • On a niche's report, or in its "Peek" panel on the Opportunities page, click "Compare". Compare opens with that niche already added.

Compare is on paid plans. On Free, the page explains what it does and links to "See plans".

Add items

  1. Type in the search box ("Search niches and your ideas"). Matching niches show under "Niches", and your runs under "Your evaluated ideas".
  2. Click "Add" next to each item you want. The line above the search box shows how many items your plan can compare.
  3. Add at least two items. To take one out, click the remove button on its chip or at the top of its column.

When you reach your plan's limit, the page says so. Remove an item to add another.

Read the table

Each column is one item, marked "Niche" or "Evaluated idea". The rows are grouped:

  • "Gap Score factors": the score and its parts, "Pain", "Demand", "Weak incumbents", "Room to win" and "Buildability".
  • "Evidence": complaints in the last 90 days, and evidence strength.
  • "Demand": searches a month.
  • "Competition": the rating of the top existing app, and how many apps were found.
  • "Build and money": build time, willingness to pay and price anchors (what similar apps charge).

In rows where a higher or a lower value wins, the best value is marked "Best". The rating, apps found and build time rows say "Lower is better". A value TrendGap did not measure says "Not measured". A value your plan does not open shows a padlock or "Locked on your plan".

Below the table, "Demand, overlaid" draws each item's monthly searches on one chart.

Save a comparison

With at least two items in, go to "Saved comparisons". Type a name if you like, then click "Save comparison". Click a saved comparison to open it again, or remove it with "Delete this comparison".

The page address only holds codes for the items, never your idea's text.
