Email preferences and unsubscribing

Choose which optional emails TrendGap sends you, how alert emails work, and how a single click unsubscribes you.

TrendGap sends two kinds of email. Account, security and billing emails always come. Every other email is optional and stays off until you switch it on.

Choose your emails

  1. Open Settings and choose the "Email" tab.
  2. Switch on the emails you want. Each row says how often it comes and since when it is on or off.
  3. Changes save at once. "Turn off all optional emails" switches everything off again.

When TrendGap shows you the short setup steps after you sign up, their last step offers some of these emails as boxes, all unticked. You can change your mind in Settings at any time.

The optional emails

Which rows you see depends on your plan and on the parts of TrendGap that are open on your account.

  • The Monday summary (the first row): what changed on your watches, the gap of the week and the new niches.
  • "Gap of the week": the week's top niche and the new ones. It is also inside the Monday summary, so you get one or the other.
  • "Daily pick": today's free niche in one short email.
  • "Getting started": a few tips in your first week. On a new paid plan it can also bring a short recap of your first month.
  • "Alert emails": the changes that passed your alert rules, in one email per check. Paid plans only.
  • "Paused watches": on Free, after a paid plan ends, what moved on the watches it paused, once a month for three months.

A row marked "Not sent yet" is an email that has not started going out. Your choice is saved and applies once it does.

The card beside the list shows the monthly cap on optional emails for your plan and how many you have had this month. Account, security and billing emails don't count toward it.

How alert emails work

  • You get one batched email per check, never one email per alert, while "Alert emails" is on.
  • It lists the top changes and tells you how many more are waiting in the app. Anything your plan does not open is left out.
  • New matches for your saved searches can join the same email.
  • It goes only to a verified email address.
  • Free does not get alert emails. Free gets a weekly summary of its watches in the inbox instead.

Unsubscribe in one click

Every optional email ends with a small "Unsubscribe" link. You don't need to sign in to use it.

  • In the Monday summary, Gap of the week, Daily pick, Getting started or Paused watches emails, the link turns off all TrendGap marketing emails in one step. The page that opens says "Unsubscribe from all TrendGap marketing emails" and has one button.
  • In an alert email, the main "Unsubscribe" button turns off alert emails only, because alert emails have their own link and their own setting. The same page also offers "Unsubscribe from every optional email".
  • Afterwards, the "Email" tab in Settings shows the row as off, with "(unsubscribed from an email)". You can switch any email back on there.

Emails you always get

Verifying your address, resetting your password and other account and security messages always come, and so do billing emails. They are not optional, so they have no switch in Settings.
